Copies of nine issues of The Exposition magazine from 1901. The magazine was first published by the exposition's Department of Publicity and Promotion in October, 1900, 14 months before the start of the exposition. These issues of Volume 1, all from 1901, predate the exposition's opening in December, 1901. The magazines contain updates on the progress of the buildings and grounds, describe the departments and exhibits associated with the exposition, give details about participating states and Caribbean countries, note exposition finances and contain various articles of human interest. Several South Carolina cities and industries are profiled in depth. The mostly monthly magazine ceased in May 1902 at the exposition's end.
