A large group of people in traditional prayer shawls, called tallit,pray and observe the customs of celebrating the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah. The man on the raised platform known as a Bimah blows the Shofar, which is a ram's horn, and a man on the left holds a Torah, which is the five books of Moses.
