Dear Sir
We wrote you on 15th inst concerning lease of Drayton Hall etc. and asking you to forward power of attorney to J.F. Matthews . We find on examination that your former power of atty [attorney] to C&M limits the leasing of Drayton Hall to 31st Dec [December] 1868 so that it will be necessary for you to send also a power of atty [attorney] to C&M (dated 1st Decem [December] 1868) to lease Drayton Hall for a term of years, which will enable us to carry out the present engagement, please send it on as soon as you receive this and oblige
