To Miss L A W
Love; Days have passed and not a line from thee,
Not one memorial will thou send.
To tell my heart, you live and ever be to me,
Thou'l [sic] always prove my friend.
Am I then left alone, by all. The object of my heart,
By her whose imiage [sic] was my guide,
If so! Then farewell, farewell [']tis hard to part,
I'll give thee as some others Bride.
Yet Love; if in after years when all is calam [sic] and still,
You revert back to life's early sea,
Moments will come, when your fond heart will fill,
Whith [sic] happy times, you have spent with me.
Love Dearest; send, Oh send, one short line to me,
One small token, willt [sic] thou send.
Twill cheer me on with hope, I'll ever think of thee,
And constant prove thy friend.
Let our loves, F'ond one, still glide on, twill last,
Though all the power's of Earth combine.
None can change it, for [']tis grafted with the past,
Its tendrels [sic] still will twine.
Louisa Dearest; God[']s blessings with you be the same,
His Angels guard you with all care,
These are my constant prayers, when ere I breathe your name,
Or grief brings to me a tear.
