1
Our motto is to render all their due
No outward show will help us this pursue,
In homlier [sic] rooms than this, small means made great
Has swelled to an immense estate
2
And he that would, such ends obtain,
must lowly creep and from expense refrain
For honesty's not always decked with lace
But humbly walking gives it jest and grace,
3
Thus we'l pusue[pursue] the tenor of an even way
Contracting nothing which we cannot pay
Our Bark is launched and cristened [sic], Good intent
May favoring breeses [sic] ever keep her canvas bent.
