Hast thou left the pleasant and shady bower
Where thy voice has oft been heard
Gladning [Gladdening] the ear of those who knew thy gifts
With music of the Southern bird
Thou art going gay bird in other climes to dart [?]
In other homes to see
Other hearts to gladen [sic], but they can neve [sic] tell
The anguish thy presence bring to me
thou art going in othe [sic] lands to roam
Farewell Farewell thy gifted songs I no more shall hear
Far away at home
I leave with
Farewell, the word brings back a tear
That mingles with the Ocean foam
