To my departed Wife
Many years have passed sinc [sic] thou wert [sic] by my side
My own, My dear departed Wife,
Thoughts will come of thee, Like the rushing tide,
That struggles on in manly strife,
Thou hast left this worldly home for brighter ones above,
For manshions [sic] in the skye,
Where all is peace, where all is love
Where none can ever die.
Cans't thy spirit leave that happy home of bliss,
And wonder [sic] on this living feild [sic],
If so! come, I pray thee come revisit this,
And let my stubern [sic] spirit yeald [sic],
Great God! thou who holds mans destiny in thy hand,
Thou who art the giver of all things,
Let thy Servant prepare to join that holy band,
Where thy name by Angels sing.
Let his Dear departed Wife, be the gaurdian [sic] spirit of his life,
Let her ever dwell within his heart,
Let her be the same in death, his Dear departed Wife,
Act let him act well, thy holy part.
Father of mercy, and God of love, grant this I pray,
This boon, is all I aske [sic] or crave,
That her spirit may gaurd [sic] me on they blessed way,
That I may with her be blessed and saved.
