Drop Counter/Check Box
Drop Counter/Check Box 2 x 4 x 3" Infusions: intravenous. Prior to the introduction of the photocell drop counter this device was used at MUSC to determine drop rate IV fluidtherapy. Needles penetrated the drop chamber and while it worked safely and well it was quickly superseded by the non-evasive photo cell. (Approx 4 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches deep) black plastic box with three buttons, drops per minute scale meter on front and drop scale on back, wire attached to plastic clamp which attaches to the plastic drop counter clamp (00-11)

Drop Counting Stop Watch 1 x 5.25 x 5.25." "Stop watch in silver metal case. developed at the Medical University. This stop watch was the first quick means to determine IV flow rate. pulse and respiration. Nurses always started the count with one when it should start with zero. This device measured the space between the drops and calculated the hourly rate. Similarly with respiration the nurse counted a given number of breaths and/ pluses and it calculated the rate per minute. (See paper #59. T.S. Hargest. CV)"
